Eric Erwin Hausmann

Eric Erwin Hausmann, 83, was born on December 12, 1929, in a small town named Wiler (Canton Bern) Switzerland. He was healthy as can be externally and unexpectedly passed away on December 22, 2012, after suffering a massive heart attack on December 17, 2012. He was active until his attack and actually drove himself to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Burbank, CA., where he collapsed in the main lobby and suffered his attack. Following the passing of his wife, Maria Urban-Hausmann in February, 2007, our Father came out of retirement and was the lead maintenance engineer and groundskeeper for the First United German Methodist Church aka "Christuskirche" where he resided in Glendale, California, A complete Tribute and Memorial will be created for our Dad in the weeks ahead and since he desired to be cremated, he asked that Memorial Arrangements be postponed to a graveside service on the 6th Anniversary of our Mother's passing to as a celebration of both of their lives, rather than a mourning of their deaths. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, CA. and will be taking place at Plot 8282 in the Peaceful Memory section of the Park on February 17th, 2013. Formal announcements will be made shortly.
Needless to say, our Father's passing was totally unexpected and we are still in shock. We had made plans to visit Switzerland with him this Spring, and certainly never saw any visible signs of illness, so you can all imagine our grief at this sudden loss of our dear Dad. To say he will be missed would be an understatement. The only peace we have now is the knowledge that he is with our Lord and our Mother in Heaven. He was a loving husband, wonderful father, doting son, and an awesome man. Dad, we love you and miss you and Mom very, very much and look forward to the day we can all be together again in Paradise.
