Enrico Trinidad Lim

April 25, 1973 — June 3, 2022

Enrico Trinidad Lim, 49, of San Dimas, California, passed away unexpectedly on June 3, 2022, after a lengthy illness. The family is deeply saddened by his sudden death.
.
Affectionately known as Eric or Rico by family and friends, he was born on April 25, 1973, in Los Angeles, California, United States, to Antonio and Erlinda Trinidad Lim. He attended Pilgrim School in Los Angeles, California, from kindergarten to junior high and spent his summers in high school at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth taking advanced college mathematics. After graduating from Loyola High School of Los Angeles in 1991, Enrico went to the University of California, Los Angeles with a National Merit scholarship and onto study various subjects at different universities and colleges while working at Starbucks before starting work at SunAmerica then Pacific Life. In 2005, Enrico moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where he worked for Pacific Life until 2020, most recently as an analyst.
.
Enrico had a droll sense of humor, always ready to cut tension in the room with a sarcastic joke or funny noise. Naturally curious, he was an avid reader and collector of facts and figures to sprinkle into conversation. He also was musically talented, having learned to play the piano at a young age, with an eclectic taste in music ranging from Adele to Green Day to Phil Collins.
.
Anyone who knew Enrico was touched by his kindness, humor and spontaneity. Whether it was to take a road trip to somewhere new with his long-time girlfriend or vacation with family in familiar spots, Enrico was excited by adventure and good food. He had moved back to Southern California on April 26, 2022, and, in the month before his death, enjoyed his favorite foods from all of his favorite restaurants and mother's cooking.
.
Enrico was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Aquilina Ordoñez Trinidad of Nederland, Texas. He is survived by his mother, Erlinda Trinidad Lim, and father, Antonio B. Lim, of San Dimas, California; his uncle Alfredo and aunt Imelda T. Trinidad of Corona, California; his aunt Belen Trinidad Espiritu of Nederland, Texas; his godson and cousin Anthony James T. Trinidad, M.D., of Corona, California; and an abundance of cousins and friends. We will all miss him more than words can say, especially his parents, who were by his side for the last two years with unconditional love and support as his illness progressed.
.
Enrico is also survived by the love of his life, Amber Mallett of Omaha, Nebraska. The couple met in 2007 and helped each other through the best and worst of times, for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health. For the years that Enrico was far from home, his parents are forever grateful for Amber's unwavering love and support and for welcoming Enrico into her family like their own.
.
A funeral will be held at Forest Lawn, Covina Hills, 21300 Via Verde Street in Covina, California, on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 9 a.m. There will be a reception immediately following the services for friends and family.
