Elvira Jurado Vera

December 17, 1930 — August 21, 2019

Elvira (Elba) Jurado Vera was born on December 17, 1930, in Iquique, Chile, passed away August 21, 2019 at the age of 88. Elba resided in Glendale, CA at the time of her passing. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, California.

Our mother Elba had 5 siblings. Sadly due to a bad illness within her family , she lost both parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. In 1946, at the age of 16, Elba was left to raise her 2 year old brother Mario. Elba left Chile to live in Lima,Peru with her uncle, Tio Zedeceda and his family. Our mother was truly a strong individual to endure such heartache at an early age, but she persevered.

Elba married our father Orlando in 1955, and were happily married for 62 years. They made a life for our family in Southern California.
Our mother Elba was the CEO of our home, she was a terrific stay home mom. Elba was a childcare giver for local Glendale elementary schools, where she was highly recommended. Our mother treated all the children that came through our home as her own kids.

Elba was loved by not only her family but also by her close friends. She was a very friendly and happy person that it was easy for her to make new friends.
Her great ability to talk and laugh mixed with her life experiences made her a great vivid storyteller.

Traveling the world was adventures for our parents during their golden years. Another great example of "Enjoying Life".

Elba is survived by her children: sons Steven Orlando Vera, David Michael Vera, daughter Monica Elba Vera-Schubert, and daughter-in-law Susie L. Vera.
grandchildren: Steven M. Schubert, Shane S. Vera, Shawn Orlando Vera, and Robert "Bobby" Schubert.
great-grand children: Silas Orlando Vera and Wilder U. Vera.

We will miss our mother, and we will forever thank her for all the sacrifices she has done, for all the happiness she has brought to our lives, for all the advice and life lessons she gave us and for her non-stop generosity given to her family.

Mom rest in peace and we know now Dad will be taking care of you again in Heaven.

Hasta luego nuestros " Mamita Linda"
