Elvira R. Kallejian

Elvira Kallejian “Vera” passed away peacefully on April 1, 2025 at the age of 78. She was born on May 28, 1946 in Indio, California and was a lifelong Coachella Valley resident and 1964 graduate of Coachella Valley High School. She worked in the medical field her entire career, until one day, she just felt like retiring.

She will be remembered for her positive attitude, warmth, kindness, strength and quick-witted humor. Her resilience and love of life pushed her through many difficult obstacles throughout her life. She loved music and dance, but most of all, she loved being with her family and friends. She touched the lives of many because she was always willing to help others out.

She is preceded in death by her father, Margarito Rodriguez, her mother, Paula A. Rodriguez, her husband, Steven E. Kallejian, and two siblings, Carmen Balderas (Luis) and Tommy Rodriguez (Tomie).

She is survived by her children, Renee Sherer (Pat) and Rebecca Galindo (Macario) along with her grandkids; Ryan, Rylee, Mikey, Angel, Ayleena and Gianna. She is also survived by five siblings, Florence Flores (Ruben), Jacinto Rodriguez (Pat), Jennie Velasquez (Sal), Ernesto Rodriguez and Margaret Pablo (Manuel).

A memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn in Coachella on April 24, 2025 with the rosary at 11:30 followed by mass and burial.

She will be forever missed.
