Elsie K. Davis

Elsie King Davis. 94, passed away August 21, 2013 at her home in Long Beach surrounded by family members. She had been in failing health for the past several months, but prior to that had lived a long and healthy life.

Elsie King was born in Los Angeles, CA and moved to Long Beach in the 1940's. She was the fifth of nine children and the first to be born in California. She was preceded in death by her husband JaHack Davis. She is survived by her sisters, Florence and Helen,; brother, Louis; daughters Jeanette Waldo (Randy, deceased), Annette Vandusen (Rob); son, John Davis (Nancy), 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Elsie was a long time employee of McDonnell Douglas, retiring in 1981. Elsie was the epitome of generosity, spending countless hours volunteering for the Women's Auxiliary to the Salvation Army, the Community Hospital Auxiliary and the Garden Club of Long Beach.

If you wish to honor her memory, donations may be made to the Long Beach Garden Club Memorial Fund, 256 Claremont Ave., Long Beach, CA 90803. Funds will be used to plant trees and to help reforest areas devastated by fire.
