Elmer S. Layaoen

Elmer S. Layaoen, 79, born on May 8, 1939, in Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, passed away on February 10, 2019. He resided in Carson, California at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Long Beach, California. He lived a full and happy life with wife, Adoracion C. Layaoen, and daughters, Maria Fides C. Layaoen and Melissa C. Layaoen. Apart from being a loving and supportive husband, he was known to be a generous, kind-hearted person who always lent a helping hand to his fellow man. He was a generous man who made and kept friends with ease. His strength of character was reflected in his deeds and many can attest that he made his own mark in this world by the way he touched many people's lives. He was known to be a fair and honest politician when he served as the beloved Mayor of Bangui, Ilocos Norte a long time ago. He continued serving his community as an active member, officer and President of Annac Ti Batac of Southern California for many years. He was a grandfather who doted on his grandchildren and made them laugh. He was a brother who gave his utmost devotion to his brothers and sisters. He was a smart man who was a skilled engineer, machinist, laser operator, all-around handyman, comedian, gardener, lover of music. He was called a wonderful uncle, guardian, cousin and friend, but those closest to his heart called him "PAPA". He will be sorely missed for the world has just lost another great man, but his legacy will live forever.
