Atkinson: Elizabeth A. "Liz" (Bellefontaine) Lundgren, 81, died Monday, September 2, 2013 at Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
Born in Bangor, Maine, daughter of the late Edgar and Catherine (Fleming) Bellefontaine, she was raised and educated in Hampden, Maine and later received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Farmington State Teachers College. She worked as a first grade teacher first in Clinton, Connecticut and later Braintree, Massachusetts before becoming a fulltime housewife and homemaker to raise her growing family.
A resident of Atkinson since 1972, Mrs. Lundgren was a member of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish of Plaistow.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mrs. Lundgren was very proud of her entire family and they considered her their guiding light. She was an avid reader and Red Sox and Patriots fan and also enjoyed baking, traveling, shopping and fashion. She truly lived life to the fullest and made the most of every day of her life.
She was the wife of Kenneth F. Lundgren, to whom she was married for fifty-five years. Together they raised nine children including three sets of twins.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children: Genelle Doherty and her husband Leo of Atkinson, Lee Mullin and her husband Jay of Murrells Inlet, SC., Amy Lundgren-Libbee and her husband Charles of Bradford, MA, David Lundgren and his wife Jennifer of Madison, CT, Eric Lundgren and his wife Virginia of Windham, Ellen Zumbado and her husband Hector of Hampton Falls, Jill Welch and her husband John of Kingston, William Lundgren and his wife Tracie of Haverhill, MA, and Kenneth Lundgren and his wife Martha of Louisville, KY, her twin brother William Bellefontaine of Lafayette, LA, also thirteen grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was predeceased by her brother Edger Bellefontaine.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, September 5, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. Her funeral will be held on Friday at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish, Plaistow, followed by burial in Atkinson Cemetery.
