Elisa Quihuis "Licha" "Rosa" Ramirez

Elisa Quihuis Ramirez, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on September 17, 2012 in her home in Coachella surrounded by her family. Born in Altar, Sonora, Mexico, on December 5, 1922 to Salvador and Mercedes Quihuis, Elisa moved to Coachella in the 50's. She lived with her husband of over 50 years, Gilbert Ramirez Sr., now deceased and had three children, Angelina Boyer (Denver resident ), Gilbert Ramirez Jr. (Indio, Ca) and Atullia (deceased in infancy). She is also survived by her sisters Hilda and Amelia, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is most known for her dedication to her family and her unconditional love for her grandchildren. Elisa showed remarkable strength and her family says she would never complain even when seriously ill. She retired from her job at CalDates packing house in the late 1970's and a homemaker. But it was her job as a grandmother what she took the most in pride in.


Visitation held, Monday, September 24, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass held, Monday, September 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with interment at Coachella Valley Cemetery. Funeral Arrangments are under the direction of Forest Lawn Coachella.
