Elias M. Gomez

March 17, 1935 — August 14, 2012

Elias M. Gomez, 77, born on March 17, 1935, in Brawley, California. Eli later moved to Norwalk, CA where he grounded himself in the part of town some of us know as Carmelas. Serving his country he was part of the Army and was a paratrooper during the Korean war. For those of you who knew Eli you would know he really enjoyed being in the company of his friends and family. He loved to dance and hear music, was a very light hearted man who was a friend to all.

Although Eli was a calm and quiet man which made him a great listener, he loved to laugh! He was a man that stuck to old fashion values and and wanted to do things right. At 77 he was full of stories of old and had made so many friends along the way.

With the memories that I have of him and my mother I can say that they were always together. They even walked outside to get the mail together. He loved my mother and together they created a life full of love and joy, I was able to witness and take part in. When Alekxa and Ezra were born my children they were the apple of his eye and he loved spending time with them. He was a wonderful grand father and the children will miss papa dearly. Eli was not only a husband, father and grandfather; but a son, brother uncle and friend. Where ever you fall in relationship to Eli I hope your fond memories with him will bring you joy.

I believe what brings us all great joy and the most peace is knowing towards the last years of his life, Eli found the Lord and built a relationship with Him which will last him an eternity. Eli accepted the Lord and felt a peace towards the end of his fight with Cancer, knowing that his father in heaven was waiting for him. I pray that as each of you come to pay your respects to Eli you also remember his faith and commitment to the Lord, the joy he had even at the end of his life knowing his salvation would forevermore free him from all sickness.

Our lives on this earth are for a moment when you compare it to eternity and he was blessed to live a long and joyful life. Knowing each of you, building memories and laughs - Now he is resting for eternity with our savior in perfect peace. Eli would want nothing more then to also have all his family and friends make and have that same relationship with our father in heaven, so at your last breath on earth it will be the first with the Lord in heaven.

God Bless you all,

The Family who loves Eli forever
