Elena "Vacion" Mendoza

Elena "Vacion" Mendoza, 82, born on December 14, 1929, in Manila, Philippines, passed away November 4, 2012 at West Anaheim Medical Center. She resided in Stanton, California at the time of her passing. Vacion (the name everyone knew her by), was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. After God, her entire life was devoted to her family and her happiness stemmed from it. But this love extended beyond her immediate family as she was also a source of strength, guidance, and wisdom for her siblings and their children. Thus, Vacion was viewed by many of her nephews and nieces as also their "Nanay." She lived a life full of faith in God, unconditional love, and giving. She will be missed by many, but will continue to live through the hearts of those who love her. Vacion is survived by her husband Jovenal; her daughter Marissa and son in law Jeff: her son Banjo; her son Jessie and daughter in law Verlyn; her five grandchildren Amber, Tong, Michelle, JB, and JR; and her great granddaughter Dominique. Viewing (Thursday, November 8 and Friday, November 9 from 12 pm to 9 pm) and services (Saturday, November 10 at 11 am at the Hope Chapel) are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
