Elena Herrera

Mrs. Elena Maria (Flores) Herrera, of Mexico City, Mexico, born on July 4, 1931 in Guadalajara, Mexico, to the late Carmen Robledo and the late Bernardo Flores, passed away at age 86 on July 1, 2018 in Los Angeles, California. She resided in Pacoima, CA at the time of her passing. She immigrated to the United States in the mid 1960's with her late husband Arnulfo. She worked for over 20 years in the Entertainment industry at Universal Studios as a Park Services employee until retiring in 2001. Elena joins her beloved husband of 37 years Arnulfo O. Herrera who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, Victor H. Herrera and Sergio Herrera; daughters, Maria Del Carmen Ortega, Patricia A. Mondragon, Elena A. Chavez, Adriana Perez, and Claudia Lowry; 1 daughter-in-law, 4 son-in-laws, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and sisters, Josefina Hernandez and Guillermina Flores.
She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, godmother, sister and friend to many. Elena's proudest legacy is her loving family. She was known for her smile and her love of life. Elena loved to smile, her smile radiated so it lit up the room and warmed hearts. She always made time to be with family and friends. Our hearts are filed with love as we remember her life of love, kindness and generosity to all her family and dear friends.
Many lived in the grace of this thoughtful, caring and intelligent woman. Whether you called her Mamá, Abue, Manita, Tia, Nina or Amiga, she will be missed and forever loved.
We take great comfort that our parents; Elena and Arnulfo are together again; to continue the most beautiful love story of our lifetime for an eternity.

Friends and family members may attend the wake on Sunday, July 15 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Faith Chapel, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, California, 90068.

A funeral service will take place on Monday, July 16 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at Church of the Hills, Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, California, 90068.
