Eleanor Pszonek, lovingly known as Ellie, passed away on January 2, 2024, in La Quinta, California. She was born on September 14, 1943, in Jersey City, New Jersey. Ellie lived an extraordinary life filled with love and an unwavering spirit.
Throughout her career, Ellie devoted herself to the field of accounting. She worked at John Wiley & Sons as an account receivable clerk and also served as a payroll clerk at Prudential Overall Supplies. Her exceptional work ethic and meticulous attention to detail were admired.
When she wasn't immersed in numbers or managing payrolls, Ellie found joy in various hobbies and interests. Women's Bowling and softball games allowed her to express her competitive spirit while forming lasting bonds with teammates throughtout the years. She also relished simple pleasures like savoring a cup of coffee or testing her luck at the casino's slot machines. In quieter moments, she found solace in playing solitaire, iPad games, and took great pride in keeping everything neat and tidy—earning her the title of "the neatest aunt ever!"
Ellie faced numerous challenges throughout her life but always met them head-on with unwavering strength and optimism. On December 21st, she received the devastating diagnosis of acute leukemia. Instead of succumbing to despair, Ellie accepted this news with indomitable determination to once again fight cancer. Over the previous two decades, she had already been a remarkable cancer survivor who embraced life with constant optimism and fearlessness. Undeterred by fear, she remained resolute in facing adversity on her terms.
As we bid farewell to Ellie, we are left with cherished memories of her vibrant personality and zest for life. Her infectious smile brightened every room she entered and touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her grace, dignity, and tenacity will forever inspire us.
A visitation ceremony to honor Ellie's memory will take place on January 16th at Forest Lawn - Cathedral City - Ramon Chapel in Cathedral City, California. Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects starting at 12:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at the same location, Forest Lawn - Cathedral City, on January 19th. The service will commence at 12:00 pm as we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Eleanor Pszonek.
