Eleanor Marshall

June 15, 1939 — May 23, 2021

Eleanor Estrada Marshall was born in Pasadena, California to Frank and Carmen Estrada on June 15, 1939. She married Alvin Howard Marshall, Sr. in September of 1977. Before meeting her husband, who was the love of her life, she raised her two eldest sons as a single mother. To provide for her children, she worked 10 hours a day, six days a week for 13 years at an electrical plant named Phaostron. After marrying Alvin and having her youngest son, she worked as a Community Liaison for Beardslee Elementary School for 20 years. She was a very active member of her church, Baldwin Park United Methodist Church, for over 40 years and enjoyed bowling in her spare time. But, most of all, she loved being a prominent presence in her sons', grandchildren's, and great grandchildren's lives. They were her world and she very much enjoyed caring for them on a daily basis, attending all their sports games and school functions, and never missing a birthday party, holiday, or major life event.

She is preceded in death by her parents Frank Estrada and Carmen Vasquez, her grandmother Otilia Florez, her husband Alvin Howard Marshall Sr., and her brothers Richard Ronald and Frank William Estrada.

She is survived by her children Antonio ("Tony") Cortez Jr, Joe Vincent Cortez, Sr. and his spouse Janet, and Michael Steven Marshall and his spouse Liliana.
She is also survived by her seven grandchildren Nicole, Julia, Joe Jr., Tristan, Oliver, Scarlet, and Lenora and her six great grandchildren Edwin Jr., Ethan, Emma, Joey III, Lucas, and her newest great granddaughter Prudence Eleanor.
