Eldon Cronk

Eldon James Cronk entered into the presence of our Lord on November 21, 2025. He was born on September 26, 1924 in Astoria, Oregon to James and Annie Cronk, and grew up in a home that loved the Lord. After high school, Eldon served as a Navy Corpsman during WWII. He then met Jean Mae Carter in Portland, Oregon, and they married on November 23, 1946. Eldon and Jean spent 76 years together before her death in 2023. Eldon had a passion for photography and spent his career doing camerawork for the aerospace industry. In 1979, he retired from Rocketdyne Aviation in Canoga Park as the Manager of the Photographic and Reproduction Department. In retirement, Eldon worked in security at Hume Lake Christian Camp, where he and his wife built a cabin. He also enjoyed hunting, was an active member of the Gideons International, and served in prison ministries. Above all, Eldon sought to show others the love of Jesus Christ through His death and resurrection. He couldn’t be found without his pocket-sized Bible, and could quote bible verses until his death at 101. He is survived by three of his four children: Kenneth Eldon Cronk, Lois Ann Morrison, Elaine Vera Bedlion, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lora Jean Harper in 2002. He will be missed by all. A Celebration of Life will be held January 14th at 10:00 at Forest Lawn in Cathedral City.
