Obituary

Elcymae Conard Frey, age 89, of La Crescenta, California, formerly a long time resident of Kansas, Arizona and California.
She passed away at home in La Crescenta, where she lived with her daughter Sandy, son-in-law Bill, and her grandchildren Sean and Shannon.
Elcymae was born on May 29, 1929 in Kansas, where she grew up in.
Elcymae married the love of her life, James Donald Conard. They had three children, Danny, Terry and Sandy. They moved to California in the 1960s. James Conard passed away August of 1972 of a massive heart attack, leaving Elcymae to take care of three children.
Elcymae took care of her three children and worked as a salesperson at Dorsey in Montrose. She then went on to work at Gospel Light Publications in Glendale. Later, she worked at a local newspaper, The Ledger, in the classified ads department.
Elcymae was a devoted and loving mother. She was very proud of her family and was excited to become a grandma to her six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Elcymae loved holidays and family get-togethers. Any chance to spend time with her family was very important to her. She loved baking her famous chocolate pies and cinnamon rolls. She always enjoyed the Christmas lights that Sandy would put up on the house during the holidays. She loved her flowers and going on vacation trips with Sandy, Bill, Shannon and Sean. In her younger years, she also enjoyed going dancing.
Elcymae was well known for her warm loving and caring heart. She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Elcymae was a beloved wife of the late James Conard; a devoted mother of Danny (Beth Conard), Terry (Jeannette Conard) and Sandy (Bill Marshall).

Loving Great Grandma to Hailee, Taylor, Greyson, Benton, Audrey, and Norah.
Family and friends will gather at Forest Lawn Glendale on December 13th starting at 2:00 p.m. for the memorial slideshow and service. Burial is to immediately follow the service.
