Elbert Reagan Hill

Elbert Reagan Hill, 65, passed away on December 20, 2019 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family and friends after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Elbert, or sometimes known as 'E.R.', was born on October 26, 1954 in Amarillo, Texas and was the youngest son of Elbert R. Hill, Sr. and Laura M. Hill. He graduated from Coachella Valley High school and had been a resident of Coachella Valley for 55 years. Elbert worked for Praxair in Indio for 39 years and was approaching retirement at the end of this year. He married Carla Vince in 1974 and they had two daughters together, Tara and Kimberly Hill. In 1995, Elbert and Melanie 'Jane' Martinez were married, and he gained two step-daughters, Anissa and Sara Martinez.

Elbert enjoyed many hobbies over the years. More recently he enjoyed spending time at the beach and flying drones in various locations around the desert. He also really loved to set up his elaborate telescope and stargaze for hours. He always enjoyed adventures and traveling. Elbert had an outgoing personality and was always quick to assist a friend in need. Everyone that knew him loved his quick wit and sense of humor. His laugh was contagious and he could sure tell a great story! He loved spending time with his family so much. Elbert had so many friends throughout his lifetime. He will be dearly missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Elbert is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Jane Hill; brother Roy Hill, Florida; daughter Tara (Hill) Terry, Redding, CA; daughter Kimberly Hill, San Diego, CA; step-daughters Anissa and Sara Martinez, both of Indio, CA; niece Serena Hill, Indio; nephew Brandon Hill, Valley Springs, CA; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. Elbert is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert R. and Laura M. Hill, and his nephew, Trevor Hill.
