In Loving Memory of Elaine England
December 16, 1940 – September 19, 2026
Elaine England, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and pillar of the Alta Loma community, passed away peacefully to be reunited for all eternity with the love of her life, Allen.
Elaine was born on December 16, 1940, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Albert and Louise Zimmermann. One of three children, her family later moved to Montebello, California, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1959. That same year, a chance meeting at the Balboa Pier changed her life forever when she met Allen England. The two were wed a year and a half later on August 13, 1960, beginning a beautiful life together that was blessed with four children: Glen, Dale, Travis, and Kari.
A resident of Alta Loma for 50 years, Elaine was deeply woven into the fabric of her community. Her professional life was spent utilizing her sharp skills in accounting, working for many years at a Thoroughbred Ranch in Ontario and alongside Allen running their tax business.
Her legacy of faith and community leadership began in the late 1970s and early 1980s when she and Allen started a church right in their backyard. That gathering grew to become Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, which remains a vital part of the community today. A steadfast woman of God, Elaine's faith never wavered, and she continued to attend services there every Sunday.
Elaine’s warmth extended far beyond her family. Through the local soccer community, she became a "second Mom" to countless children over the years. She was also an avid crocheter, channeling her creativity and generosity into beautiful afghans, Christmas trees, and hats that she lovingly donated to cancer patients.
She is survived by her devoted children, Glen, Dale, Travis (Francine), and Kari (Brian); her grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Mema," Chelsea (Joey), Katelyn (Vince), Noah, Nathan, Luke, and William; and her great-grandsons, Jaxson and Logan, with her great-granddaughter Peyton soon to arrive.
Elaine walked closely with God throughout her life. While she will be deeply missed and her memory will live on in the hearts of many, her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace and happier than ever, side-by-side with her beloved Allen once more.
