El Roy Eugene "Gene" Gravely

Born September 5, 1944, El Roy Eugene "Gene" Gravely, Jr., dedicated husband, family man, mentor and confidant passed away suddenly on Friday November 11, 2016 in Glendora, CA. Gene, a veteran of the United States Air Force in Bitburg, Germany and Vietnam was raised in Columbus, Ohio, and moved to Los Angeles, California a few years after returning from his military service. Soon thereafter he met Wadie Mae Hall, who he successfully courted and married on June 13, 1970. After a short acting career Gene moved his growing family of four children to Altadena, California. With over thirty years as a pioneer in the field of mortgage banking before retirement, he also served for thirteen years on the board of Boys Republic; honored as a Director Emeritus.

Gene leaves behind his beloved wife Wadie Mae Gravely, three daughters Amber Joy Gravely, Dawn Michelle Gravely (Daryl), Stacie Kim Gravely Curry (Jason) and his son Lance Eugene Gravely (Eva) with two grandchildren (Eliska and Luka). He is survived by four siblings including two sisters, DeLois Woodward, and Tezona Ledbetter, and two brothers, Steven Gravely (Frankie) and Von Gravely; including many nieces and nephews.

Memorial service - Forest Lawn Covina Hills, the Church of our Heritage 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, CA 91724 at Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 12:00 p.m.
Celebration of Life reception will follow immediately after at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel and Conference Center, California 3.
