He was an alumnus of Silliman University, a renowned private university in Dumaguete, Philippines, where his pursuit of knowledge laid the foundation for his accomplished career and fulfilled life.
Driven by hope and a desire to create a brighter future, Efraim made the momentous decision to move from the Philippines to the United States. This journey was not an easy one, yet he undertook it with steadfast determination so that his family might enjoy new opportunities and security. The home that he built and the life he created in this new land became an enduring expression of his strength, fortitude, and abiding love.
In his professional life, Efraim was known as a dedicated engineer at Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center. His career reflected not just expertise and diligence, but a profound sense of duty and pride in every task he carried out, benefiting countless people with his meticulous care and unwavering ethics.
Efraim’s character left indelible impressions on those privileged to know him. His family and friends remember him as hardworking, loving, and caring—a man who never hesitated to offer his support and was always considerate of the needs of others. A passionate sports enthusiast, Efraim brought warmth, camaraderie, and joy to every gathering, embodying the gentle strength and kindness that endeared him to his community.
Left to honor and cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Maria Nemenzo, and his son, Jose Paolo Montinola. They, along with many who were touched by Efraim’s generosity and wisdom, now hold close the memories of a life well-lived and a love that will never fade.
To celebrate Efraim’s life, a visitation will be held on August 9, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM, at Forest Lawn - Hollywood Hills, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068. A Nicheside Service will follow on August 14, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM, at the same venue.
