Barrington, NH: Edwin C. "Ed" Wilson, 83, of Barrington, NH, and a former resident of Hampstead, NH, and Groveland, MA, died peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, September 10, 2014 at the Rockingham County Nursing Home, in Brentwood, NH.

Born in Atkinson, NH on June 9, 1931, son of the late Charles and Edna (Young) Wilson, Edwin served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Missouri. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, he worked as a truck driver for several years hauling fuel oil and gasoline.

An avid animal lover, Edwin enjoyed racing stock cars in his younger years. He was also a member of the Teamster Union Local 633 of Manchester for many years.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Patricia A. (Thompson) Wilson, two daughters, Karen G. Latford and her husband James of Kingston, NH, and Rebecca J. Grady and her husband Kevin of Strafford, NH, three granddaughters, Danielle Latford, Hannah Grady, and Emery Grady, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Edwin C. Wilson, Jr. and three sisters, Lillian Strong, Doris Wilson, and Dorothy George.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Edwin's Life Celebration on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. His funeral will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. A private family burial service will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wentworth Hospice, 121 Broadway, Suite 117, Dover, NH 03820, or Cocheco Valley Humane Society, 262 County Farm Road, Dover, NH 03820.
