Edward Ethridge was born on November 25, 1919 at his parents' home in Commerce, Texas; He continued to live there and met his future wife, Joan Hollins at a Baptist church in town. He continued on to college at East Texas University where he graduated in 1941 with a BA in Engineering and Joan later received a BA in teaching. Edward started working for Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, California, in 1941 as a planner. He and Joan were married in 1942 and

Edward was drafted by the US Navy in November 1944. He served as a Radioman and was stationed in San Diego, CA. Upon his discharge, he returned to Lockheed Aircraft and worked there for 42 years. He and Joan lived in Burbank and joined Burbank First United Methodist Church in 1956. They were married for 55 years until her death in 1997. They had 2 boys, David and Mark Ethridge and continued to live in Burbank.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents "A.G." and Odell Ethridge, brothers Wallace and Clovis Ethridge. Survived by Sons David (Toni) of Burbank, and Mark (Nancy) of Tinley Park, Illinois, Grandson Matthew (Heidi) Ethridge and Granddaughter Lynn also of Tinley Park along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express deep their gratitude to the Geriatric medical team at Kaiser Panorama City, Kaiser Hospice and the staff and caregivers at Friends Board and Care in Burbank who provided excellent care during Dad's final days. Toni would also express thanks to Maria P. and Jasper the cook at his former facility for their support and care.

Visitation for Edward Ethridge is Tuesday, August 6th, Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills from 4-9 PM and Graveside services Wednesday, August 7 at 2 PM Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, The Reverend Inman Moore officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Edward's memory would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association at ALZ.org
