Haverhill: Edward A. DeMarco, 76 of Haverhill, died September 29, 2016 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, following a long illness.
Born, raised and educated in Wakefield, son of the late Anthony and Wilfreda (Farnell) DeMarco, he graduated from Burlington High School in 1958 and served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. DeMarco was a carpenter and General Building Contractor who owned and operated Wakefield Builders for many years and later Lafayette Radio and Electronics in Haverhill.
A former resident of Texas and Hampstead and Kingston, NH before returning to Haverhill several years ago, he was a member of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish of Plaistow and Newton.
An avid New England Patriots fan, he enjoyed playing poker, watching movies and home movies, electronics and home restoration. He was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren, and enjoyed attending all of their academic and sporting events. He was especially kind to animals including his own pet dogs and cats and most enjoyed family gatherings, mostly when lobster was on the menu.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-four years, Dorothy E. (Carrier) DeMarco, six daughters, Deena M. Mahoney and her husband John of Raymond, NH, Vicki L. DeMarco of Ormond Beach, FL, Christine A. Masone and her husband Anthony of Windham, NH, Andrea J. DeMarco of South Daytona, FL, Elizabeth G. Lupa and her husband Justin of Salisbury, and Kathleen Nascimento of Bradenton, FL. two sisters, Arlene Dambrosio of Wilmington and Nancy Szymanski of Terre Haute, IN, twelve grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter Donna K. DeMarco.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. DeMarco's Life Celebration to be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Route 121A, Plaistow, NH. His funeral will be held on Tuesday morning, October 4, 2016 at 9a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10a.m. in Mary, Mother of the Church of Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish, Newton NH. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Stoneham. The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, 6520 North Andrew Ave, Ft. Lauderdale,FL.
