Edna Roberts

October 5, 1944 — March 3, 2025

Edna Roberts, a shining beacon of love and grace, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on October 5, 1944 to Benjamin and Marie Jones in Marshall Texas, Edna’s journey through life was marked by unwavering faith, boundless kindness, and an enduring commitment to her family and community.

For 25 years, Edna dedicated herself to her career at General Telephone, now known as Frontier, but her true legacy lies far beyond her professional life. A God-fearing woman, she attended Bible college in the early 70s and was ordained as a Missionary under the Pentecostal faith. Edna's devotion to teaching the word of God was palpable, and she loved sharing her faith with all who crossed her path. She was known for her caring spirit, amazing sense of humor, and her ability to love unconditionally—as a mother, grandmother, and friend.

Edna was an adventurous spirit who loved to travel. She shared many meaningful experiences, not just locally but reaching into the depths of compassion and generosity. One of her proudest accomplishments was winning a station wagon on the game show "Let’s Make A Deal." With that vehicle, she transported food, clothes, shoes, bikes, and toys to a family in Mexico—a husband and wife with 15 children—delivering countless blessings to those in need. Her impact did not stop there; during over 30 years of prison ministry, she lovingly provided care packages and support, celebrating the release of 90 men who sought redemption and new beginnings, many of whom have since found happiness and success.

Edna also extended her warmth to nursing homes, where she brightened the lives of residents with fruit baskets. Her commitment to her community was matched only by her creative spirit. She wrote the play "Lost In the House," which touched the hearts of many, performed in theaters throughout Northern and Southern California, spreading her message of hope and love.

Edna cherished every moment spent with her family. She was a devoted mom to her daughter Shelly and an adoring grandmother to her granddaughters Tiffany and Brittney, as well as her great-grandchildren Ezekiel and Tru. The warmth and joy she brought into their lives will forever be a cherished memory in their hearts. Edna’s loving nature extended to her sister Minnie, her sister in love Sennie, her 1st cousin Alfred and wife Gail, her nieces Kimberly and Selesia, and her nephews Benjamin and LaVell. Along with them, a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends remember Edna fondly, grateful for the moments shared. Edna was preceded in death by her mother and father Benjamin and Marie Jones, her brothers Vernon Jones and Benny Jones, and her great-nephew Daniel Jones.

As we gather to celebrate Edna’s life, we remember her as an amazing mom and grandmother, a hardworking and caring individual whose spirit filled every room with joy. A visitation will be held on March 30, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills, followed by a funeral service at the Church of Our Heritage at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills on March 31, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Viewing on March 31, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

Though Edna has departed from this earthly life, her love, laughter, and unwavering faith will eternally resonate within the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit will continue to inspire, guide, and uplift us all.
