Edith Louise Vogt, 93, born on March 24, 1925, in Norfolk, Virginia, passed away September 24, 2018. She resided in Lakewood, California at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Long Beach, California.
She was the youngest of four children, the daughter of the late Albert Augustus and Hattie Edith (Nuchols) White. She married Edward Nicholas Vogt April 5, 1942 in Camden, NC. After their marriage they moved to his home state of California, where their five children were born.

She led an active life. She worked at Paper Products Inc. for 29 years. She loved to travel, one of her favorite trips was when she went to Europe with her sister Gladys. That is when she started collecting Pinocchio's, she had a very large collection. She sang with the Sweet Adelines (a women's barbershop chorus) for over 30 years. One of her favorite past times was to go with her friends to listen to the Cherry Willow Jazz Band. She was an avid Dodger fan, we all have memories of watching Dodger games with her. She loved to go to all of her kids and grandkids sporting events including practices, she was known as Grandma with a lot of the teams. Family was her main focus her entire life and family functions was her favorite, she had a very large family.

Edith is survived by her five children: her son John Vogt of Santa Rosa, CA, and her daughters Jimme Kemper of Fresno, CA, Kristi Vogt of Signal Hill, CA, Kathie MacPherson of Bellflower, CA, and Cindy Webb of Seal Beach, CA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Ronda Smith, Bryan Kemper, Nikki Calvo, Corie Gibson, Edward Vogt, Robert MacPherson, Jeremy MacPherson, Michael Peterson, Nicole Martinez, Brandon Peterson, and 2 step-grandchildren Hunter Webb and Tristen Webb, as well as 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way.

The services will be on October 20 at 2pm
