Edita "Lela" Rosario

Edita Rosario, 88, was born on September 16, 1924, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She passed away May 2, 2013. She resided in Norwalk, California for the last thirty-four years.

She was a loving mother to 17 children and best known to family and friends as "Lela". She is survived by 9 Daughters, 3 Sons, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edita was famous for her exquisite Puertorican cuisine; where in the late 50's, she cooked for Luis A Ferre, who later became the governor of Puerto Rico. In September 1970, she moved her family to the Bronx, New York City and quickly became a fan of the New York Yankees.

Lela also loved to watch wrestling matches at Madison Square Garden, Spanish soaps (novelas), and had a great passion for collecting items which included a vast array of porcelain dolls, knickknacks and McDonald's collectibles. This remarkable women will be remembered by all for her kindness and her social coffee breaks. She was an exceptional mother, grandmother, guardian, sister, aunt and friend to all.
