Edison Israel Enwia, 76, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023 in the city of Lakewood, California, in the presence of his family. He was born on January 1st, 1947 to Pastor Israel Enwia and Mother, Elishwa "Nanajan" J. Enwia in Habbaniya, Iraq.
Edison loved Jesus, was a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend. He touched the lives of many with his smile, kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. He will be deeply missed, but rejoice that his spirit has returned home into the arms of his loving Father in heaven, Amen!
Edison is survived by his wife, Zabeth T. Enwia. His children, Mariam E. Albers and Edwin E. Enwia. Grandchildren, Elizabeth K. Albers and Isaac D. Albers. His sister, Agnes Younathan and his brothers, Hawil Enwia and Younael Enwia.
A computer engineer by profession, Edison was known for his exceptional work ethic, professionalism and personality. After retirement, he served the United States as a linguist, serving two-tours in Iraq, as an asset to the Global War on Terrorism, supporting the men and women of the U.S Army. After returning home, he spent his remaining years a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother to those he held dearly to his heart.
In his free time, Edison had a passion for serving his family in any available capacity and tinkering with electronic devices as he later was adopted into the smartphone generation. He also took great joy in attending his grandchildren’s events through the church and thier organized sports. Lastly, with humble contention, he enjoyed living his life at home, because he shared it with his wife of 47 years, Zabeth T. Enwia.
Edison was a person of great integrity and a pillar of strength for his family because he loved Jesus. He will be remembered for his joyful and righteous spirit which was gifted to him by his God, his smile, and his simplistic approach toward living life in a way that was pleasing to his Lord.
A memorial service to celebrate Edison’s life will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the City of Cypress at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 7th, 2023. Friends and family are invited to attend and pay their respects. A repast will follow at a location to be disclosed at a later time.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all those who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time.
Edison’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.
