Edgardo Catubo Cayetano

Edgardo "Eddie" Catubo Cayetano passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Lakewood, California on May 7, 2021 at age 84. He battled several age-related ailments including heart disease, kidney failure, and cancer. The last few years were a struggle, and he fought valiantly until the end.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Aurelia Garma Cayetano and his children Guia (Jessie) Delgado, Edades (Noralyn) Cayetano, and Buena (Thomas) Wendt, 5 brothers and 6 sisters. Grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Edgardo was born on October 25, 1936 in Naic, Cavite Philippines. He attended FEATI University in Manila and earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
He and Aurelia were married on June 5, 1957. Together, they emigrated from the Philippines to the United States to establish citizenship in the 1970's.

He continued as an Alloy Analytical Specialist for 14 years at Truesdail Laboratories, Inc in Tustin, CA as well as Certified Alloy in Long Beach, California before retiring. He had several hobbies that he excelled in, among them: golf, gardening, horticulture, and raising/ breeding koi fish. He enjoyed discussing life and its many lessons to his grandchildren and had a soft spot for all his cats and dogs. He was involved in the NAIC Association Organization.

Eddie succeeded in his goal to leave a legacy. He will be remembered by his grandchildren and great grandchildren for stressing the importance of education and saving for the future.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Forest Lawn in Cypress California. Visitation hours are 9:00 am -- 11:00 am at Hope Chapel. Services are 11:30 am -- 12:30 pm at Patriot's Chapel. Due to COVID restrictions, capacity is limited; in order to accommodate visitors, groups may alternate amongst themselves during the viewing. An outdoor overflow area will be available for the service. Interment to follow - at Sheltering Trees.
