OBITUARY FOR
EDGARDO "ED" ROSARIO CASIANO SR.
Edgardo "Ed" Rosario Casiano Sr., age 73 of Los Angeles, California passed away Wednesday, October 24th, 2018, at 9:47am at Kaiser Permanente Sunset Hospital. His son, Edgardo Jr. was by his side. Ed was born May 20th, 1945 in Cavite City, Philippines. He was one of five children born to Eusebio and Salvadora Casiano. Ed grew up in Cavite City, Philippines and graduated from Cavite City High School in 1961. Ed married his wife, Elma Anglo on May 1st, 1978 in Los Angeles, California.
After high school graduation Ed went to the Philippine College of Arts and Trades and received his certification in Applied Electronics in 1964. In addition, Ed attended Los Angeles Harbor College for Electrical Engineering from 1977 to 1978. Ed put himself through school by being self-employed as a Radio and Television Technician.
After college, Ed worked as a Marine Electrician (Journeyman) at the ship repair yard in El Varadero de Manila, Philippines. Ed also worked as a contract Electrician in Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Spain from 1971 to 1976. Because of Ed's travels he was fluent in over five languages. Ed became Head Electrician and an adult school teacher for Beverly Hills Unified School District from 1979 to 2007. Ed enlisted in the Army in 1977 to 1979 as a Tactical Wire Operations Specialist.
All who knew Ed realized he was interested in fishing, cooking, auto repair and home remodeling. However, Ed's biggest love was spending time with family and friends. Ed always kept busy as a jack-of-all-trades. Ed believed in hard work, but family was the most important part of his life. Ed was a friend to all he met due to his personable and cheerful personality. Ed loved spending time with his wife of 40 years, children and grandchildren. Ed was a great man, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed.
Ed is survived by his wife Elma; three children: daughter Edlyn (Chris) Rose of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son Edgardo Jr. (Sarai) Casiano of Dekalb, Illinois; daughter Edwina Casiano of Mission Hills, California; sister Teresita (Cesar) Samonte of Honolulu, Hawaii; brother Cesar (Judy) Casiano of Las Vegas, Nevada; and four grandchildren: Reginald Olaes, Madyson Casiano, Edgardo Maxwell Casiano III, and Molly Casiano.
Internment with military honors at Forest Lawn will immediately follow today's Celebration of Life.
