Edgardo “Ed” Abutal Aggabao, 78, was called home to be with the Lord on June 17, 2025. He passed peacefully at his home in Moreno Valley, California. Born on December 20, 1946, in Manila, Philippines, he was the cherished son of Estrella and Juan Aggabao.
Ed earned his college degree in the Philippines, majoring in Economics, and later embarked on a journey that would shape the rest of his life. In 1976, he moved to the United States and settled in New Jersey, In 1987, Ed and his wife moved with their two young sons to Anaheim, California, where they planted lasting roots and created a warm, welcoming home.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Emelita, with whom he shared a lifetime of unwavering love and partnership. He was the proud father of Emmanuel (Samantha) and Edmond (Roxanne), and the beloved “Tyty” to his grandsons Emmanuel Jr., Aiven, and Zackrie. He was joyfully anticipating the arrival of his first granddaughter in October. He is also remembered by his mother Estrella, his siblings, and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Juan, brother Jun, and niece Patricia.
Ed had a deep passion for capturing life’s moments—rarely seen without a camera or camcorder in hand, he was the family’s dedicated documentarian, preserving countless memories through his lens. He found joy in traveling, always seeking new experiences and places to explore, but his greatest joy was in simply spending time with his family. Whether at home or abroad, Ed made every moment meaningful, infusing it with his warmth, humor, and boundless love. A kind and generous soul, his presence brought light, laughter, and comfort to everyone around him. Though we mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is now in God’s eternal embrace, and that his legacy lives on—in the memories he helped create, in the love he gave so freely, and in the lives he so deeply touched.
