Exeter, NH: Earle E. Houghton, 84, of Exeter and a former longtime resident of Plaistow, NH from 1965 to 2012 died on August 25, 2015 at the Edgewood Center in Portsmouth, NH.

Born in Dartmouth, MA, and raised in educated in New Bedford, MA, son of the late Harold and Edith (Salter) Houghton, he graduated from New Bedford High School with the Class of 1949. He went on to attend New Bedford Technical Institute and received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University in Chemistry.

Mr. Houghton was a member of the Army National Guard and was employed as a Chemist for Western Electric and AT&T Technologies for over thirty years.

A former resident of Haverhill before moving to Plaistow, Mr. Houghton was a founding member of the former Grace United Methodist Church in Haverhill and he and his late wife were active members of the Couples Club. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed gardening.

He was predeceased by his wife Priscilla (Weeks) Houghton and is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David A. and Elizabeth Houghton of Danville, NH, two daughters and their significant others, Donna L Harrison and Paul Deranian of Exeter, and Leslie J. Stratos and Bob Bushway of Danville, six grandchildren, Christopher Wells, Chelsey Stratos, Devin Stratos, Meaghan Houghton, Allison Houghton, and Jordan Wells, a brother-in-law, David Weeks of New Bedford, an "adopted son" Jayson Montebianchi of Haverhill, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mr. Houghton's Life Celebration on Friday, August 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street, Plaistow, NH. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 29 at 12 noon in the funeral home followed by burial in Plaistow Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
