Earl Holmes

Earl Jerry Holmes passed away peacefully in Riverside, California, on July 5, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on May 29, 1941 to Earl Eugene Holmes and Isabelle Schmidt in Breckenridge Minnesota, Earl led a life marked by dedication, service, and deep commitment to his loved ones and community.

Earl’s early years in Minnesota and Wisconsin with his siblings Lynn, Emily, Lois, and Ella shaped the values of hard work and integrity that would remain a hallmark of his character throughout his life. Answering his country’s call, Earl served in the United States Army (RA INF) and was stationed in Germany. His military service stood as a testament to his unwavering sense of duty and honor.

Following his time in the service, Earl established a remarkable legacy in the business community as the owner of Eagle One Personnel, a staffing agency in Los Angeles, California, which he led for thirty years. Earl’s leadership and commitment to excellence not only ensured the agency’s success but also helped countless individuals achieve meaningful employment and career advancement. 

Family was an essential part of Earl’s life. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marilyn Holmes, whose memory he cherished dearly. Earl is survived by Sean Holmes, Lisa Holmes, and Marc Holmes, who mourn his passing and honor the enduring love, wisdom, and strength he shared so generously. His relationships were marked by kindness, steadfast support, and sincere affection.

Those who knew Earl will remember him as a hard working and dedicated father, a man of strong principle, and for his unwavering support of his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers (Go Pack Go!). His legacy resides not only in his professional accomplishments but also in the lives he uplifted, both through his life’s work and his personal bonds.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Earl Holmes will be held on Friday July 31, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills, Church of our Heritage, located at 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, CA, 91724. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Earl are invited to join in honoring his memory.

Earl Holmes’s life was one marked by purpose, dedication, and love. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
