Dorothy Thompson

Dorothy (Arletha) Thompson at the age of 92 went to be with her Heavenly Father and her family who proceeded her in Heaven on May 1st, 2023. Arletha was born on January 13, 1931, in Wann, OK. She was one of six children, William (Junior), Ona, Bob, Joann, and Phyllis. At the time of her passing, she resided close to her family in Port Orchard, WA. She is survived by children Debra Chulich, Linda Pace, Daniel Thompson, Mark Thompson, and stepson Kenneth (Allen) Thompson. She was also adored by her seven grandchildren (Tiffani, Stevie, Chelsie, Ryan, Brooke, Baylee, and Trevor), Two step-grandchildren (Renee and Jeff), and six great-grandchildren (Marcos, Madison, Mia, Shea, Tate, and Banning). 

She raised her four children with her husband Kenneth "Bernie" Thompson in Bellflower, California, where she lived for 50 years. They were members of the North Long Beach Foursquare Church where she sang in the choir. For several years after her children were raised she was a private duty nurse where she cared for several celebrities such as Mr. Van Camp of Van Camp’s pork and beans. 

She had a passion for gardening, enjoyed taking long walks, and spending quality time with all of her kids and grandkids. She loved to sing songs about heaven. She touched many people’s lives with her generosity, kindness, humility, and passion for life. 

Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA where she will be buried close to her husband Kenneth "Bernie" Thompson.
