Dorothy D. Stearns

Dorothy D. Stearns, 87, of Calimesa, Calif. made her transition in Loma Linda, Calif. on December 10, 2012. She was born in Sedelia, Mo. on July 21, 1925. She was a very loving wife to Leonard Stearns and a wonderful caring mother to: Sharyon Stone of Hemet, Calif.; Robert Stearns of Calimesa; John Stearns of Indian Wells, Calif.; and Donald Stearns of Calimesa. She was Grandmother to nine Grandchildren and four Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Lyons of Tujunga, Calif. Together, Leonard and Dorothy owned a custom home construction and mobile home development company that operated in Las Vegas, Nev., Los Angeles, Gardena, Calimesa, Torrance, Indian Wells and Palos Verdes, Calif. Dorothy and Leonard were married for over 65 years. Dorothy always lived life to the fullest and was not afraid to take a chance in life. She had a wonderful life, and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Dorothy Stearns' Celebration of Life service will be held on December 15, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cathedral City, Calif.
