Dorothy Theresa Pedalino

Dorothy Theresa Pedalino, age 87, of La Quinta, Calif., entered into heaven on April 13, 2014 to reunite with her loving husband of 65 years, Edward Anthony Pedalino. Eddie stole her heart at the age of 19 in a soda shop where she worked and they were married shortly thereafter on August 24, 1945 in Biloxi, Miss. where he was stationed in the U.S. Army. Dorothy was born Dorothy Theresa Maggipinto on December 19, 1926 in Yonkers, New York to John Maggipinto of Italy and Susan Giorno of New York. Dorothy had three sisters, Blanche, Frances, Marie and one brother, John. She is survived by her two sons, Ed Pedalino (Barbara) and John Pedalino (Cynthia); eight grandchildren, Tony, Chloe, Stacie (Gareth), Carrie (Chad), MarcAnthoni, Miranda, Mikaela, John Michael; and four great-grandchildren, Connor, Caylee, May and Ieuan. Dorothy worked in retail sales for Sears Roebuck & Company for twenty years. Upon retirement, she and Eddie relocated to La Quinta in 1993 from New Rochelle, N.Y. Dorothy became very active in the St. Francis of Assisi Ladies Guild for which she enjoyed making crafts for the yearly bazaar and numerous other activities. Dorothy was an avid Yankees, Lakers, and Michigan football fan. She loved her family very much. A visitation will take place 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Forest Lawn Cathedral City, 69855 E. Ramon Road, Cathedral City, CA. The funeral mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 47225 Washington Street, La Quinta, CA on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 10:00 am, burial services to follow at Coachella Valley Cemetery, 82925 Avenue 52, Coachella, CA. A celebration of her life will be held later between 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at 50455 Woodmere, La Quinta, CA. In lieu of flowers, remembrances are suggested to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or charity of your choice. Forest Lawn Cathedral City is entrusted with all arrangements.
