Dorothy E. Lewis

Dorothy Elizabeth Vierregger (Vyborney) Lewis was born November 4, 1921 in Omaha, Nebraska as the third of twelve children and the only daughter of Herman Vierregger and Elisabeth Glesmann Vierregger. She passed away in El Dorado Hills, California on March 13, 2022 at the age of 100.


She is survived by her daughter Shirley Manoly, son Vernon Vyborney, six grandchildren, brother Henry Vierregger and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Lewis and sons Melvin Vyborney and Karl Lewis.


Dorothy was a registered nurse with the State of California (Camarillo State Hospital) for twenty years.


She was a past Worthy Matron and past Deputy Grand Matron of Eastern Star and had over 1000 volunteer hours at Pleasant Valley (St. John's) Hospital in Camarillo. She and her husband Don were world travelers and she set foot on all seven continents.


Interment is at Forest Lawn in Cypress, California.
