She was surrounded by her loving daughter Elaine Ownby. Dorothy was born on September 23, 1937, in Harlan, Iowa, to her parents Fern Ruby Green and Ralph Henry Green.
Growing up in Harlan, Iowa, Dorothy later moved to Omaha, Nebraska with her family in the 1950s. She graduated from Omaha High School in 1956 where she pursued her passion for Business and dedicated her time to serving with the Junior Red Cross.
In 1956, she met the love of her life, Thomas (Tom) Kenneth Kroskey, at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. Dorothy was a devoted mother who enjoyed cooking, baking delicious treats, and sewing clothes for her daughters as they grew up alongside Tom whose military career took them to various Air Force bases.
After parting ways with Tom in 1970 following his military service at different bases around the country and overseas, Dorothy found love again with Billy Charles Gore in Calloway, Florida. They tied the knot on July 27, 1972 and welcomed a daughter of their own named Kathy Gore. Dorothy dedicated ten years of her life working as a licensed practical nurse at Bay Memorial Hospital.
Following the end of her second marriage in 1990 while residing in Lakewood, California with her daughter Elaine by her side throughout it all; Dorothy found joy in attending the Candlelight Dinner Theater to watch musical plays. She also spent time creating beautiful crochet and knitted blankets including a stunning double wedding ring pattern.
