Survived by husband Hayward, son Steve, daughter Stephanie, granddaughters Erin and Kaeli, grandson Eric, and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews & cousins. She was raised by her aunt in Beverly Hills. After high school, she completed studies at Sawyer Business College, leading to employment as secretary at St. Mark's Presbyterian Church in Lomita, also serving as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon. She continued her church involvement as a secretary, Sunday School teacher and Elder at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Los Angeles. She also taught Sunday School and sponsored single adult groups at South Hollywood Presbyterian Church and Wilshire United Methodist Church. With a love for children, she volunteered extensively at Cleland House, a Presbyterian mission in East Los Angeles. She developed a "Dolls for Adoption" program which evolved into a major "Toy Loan" activity. She received the Presbytery's Social Service Award for her work with children.
After a long period of illness, she was called Home to be with her Lord on Aug. 18.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her name to the Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) Youth, 2501 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles 90057, or Immanuel Presbyterian Church, Food Pantry 3300 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles 90010.
