Dorothy "dory" (dane) Meile

Dorothy "Dory" (Dane) Meile of Plaistow, died following a courageous battle with Brain and Lung Cancer on December 10, 2015. She was born in Methuen, MA on Feb 21, 1956, daughter of Gladys (Berthiaume) Dane of Plaistow, NH and the late, Donald Dane. Dory was raised and Educated in North Andover along with her late sister, Deborah (Dane) (Ruggieri) Hammar. Dory is survived by one son, Kenneth Smith of Kingston, NH. Dory and her best friend, Michael Meile eloped to Bermuda, and were married there on Oct 16, 2000.

She worked at Agfa Corporation in Wilmington, MA for 25 years and for General Electric in Billerica, MA for 9 years as a Buyer.

The Joy of her life were her family and friends. Dory had a true passion for life and was well known for her Great Smile and laughter. Her hobbies were horseback riding, dancing, walking, cooking, entertaining, playing cards & crocheting afghans.

Dory will be sadly missed by her beloved husband, Michael, her mother Gladys, her son Kenneth "Smitty", her two step-daughters, Teresa Bailey and her husband Arthur of NY and Andrea Cushing and her husband Russ of FL. Her 2 grandchildren, Olivia and Sam Bailey of NY. Her brother-in-law, Carmen Meile of CT, her brother-in-law, Joseph Ruggieri and wife, Margo of Hilton Head, SC. Many beloved relatives and friends also survive her.

Family and friends are invited to attend Dory's Life Celebration on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 4 – 8 PM at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main Street (Rt. 121A), Plaistow, NH 03865. There will be a memorial gathering for Dory on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 11 AM. More details will be available at the funeral home.
