Dorothy Eugenia Calkins, 77, born on September 11, 1936 in Tacoma, Washington, passed away August 3, 2014 in Brentwood, California. Widow of US Navy Commander Delos S. Calkins, Jr., "Dottie" was a CPA by training, and an early female graduate of the Northwestern undergraduate school of business. Most recently a resident of Dana Point, she also lived for extended periods in Texas, Florida, Virginia, Hawaii, Illinois and other cities in California. In her later years as a retiree she volunteered extensively at Saddleback Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her son, John, grand-daughters Skyler, Katherine and Chloe, and sister, Carolyn. A service for Dottie will be held at Forest Lawn cemetery in Glendale at 12:30 on Tuesday, August 12th, with interment at Arlington National Cemetery later this month. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, California.
