Doris R. Gallion

Doris R. Gallion, 96, born on March 2, 1920, in Durham, North Carolina, began her eternal life in Heaven with her savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 12, 2016. Mrs. Gallion was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar A Gallion of Fort Worth, Texas, and her brother, Glenn Mann of Newbern, North Carolina. She is survived by her daughters, Retta L Slay, and Gayla G Thompson and 3 grandchildren, Jordan, Keaton and Tara.

A Memorial Celebration Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Long Beach, 1000 Pine Avenue.
All are Welcome to attend Celebration of Life Reception immediately following at 2:30 pm.

Optional Viewing & Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 am prior to the service. Burial will be private for family and closet friends. She will be interred at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Cypress, California.

Doris served her community as a licensed RN for 71 years, Sunday school teacher for 35 years at FBC- LB, Young at Hearts director, Eagles Ministry to local homeless community, Recoverers Unanimous counseling those afflicted with addictions, Life Story Writers Club member, PTA Board Members at local Long Beach Schools, and Friend to many.

Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
