It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Doris Dafney, a beloved mother, sister, friend, grandmother, and dedicated medical assistant, who left us on March 9, 2026. Born on December 15, 1948, to the parents of Bonnie Lee Baker and Juanita Choice in Dallas Texas, Doris led a life marked by devotion, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others.
For over twenty years, Doris served as a medical assistant, a role in which she was deeply respected and cherished. Her compassionate spirit and gentle hands brought comfort to countless patients, and her colleagues admired her steadfast dedication to her work and the well-being of those she served. Beyond her professional life, Doris was a source of warmth and strength for her family, embodying the values of love, understanding, and resilience.
Doris is lovingly survived by her sisters, Dianne Thompson, Robbin Smith, Kim Bradley (Douglas), Aminia Clark (Gary) her brothers Bryan Baker, Kevin Baker (Michelle), Jovan Baker and William Thompson Jr., her son, Brian Choice, and daughter, Stefanie Galloway (Jessie). Doris had the joy of watching her family grow, doting on her grandchildren—Evin Choice, Devin Choice, Revin Choice, Jesse Galloway Sr. (Devany), Joshua Galloway, and great grandchildren Zeeva Choice, Akeemah Choice, Amina Choice and Jesse Galloway Jr.—who brought immeasurable happiness and light to her life, along with numerous relatives and countless friends.
Doris was preceded in death by her mother Juanita Jenkins, father Bonnie L Baker, grandmother Bennie Mae Jones, son Kevin Choice and brothers Marcus & Jerome Choice.
Her journey will be commemorated with a Viewing on April 3, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills, located at 21300 Via Verde Drive, Covina, California. Following this, a Celebration of Life will take place on April 4, 2026, beginning at 9:30 AM at Forest Lawn - Covina Hills - Church of Our Heritage, at the same address.
Doris Dafney’s legacy is one of love and compassion, a beacon of kindness to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she has departed from this world, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. As we say goodbye, we remember her not just for what she did, but for who she was—a nurturing soul whose impact will forever be felt.
May her memory be a blessing, and may her family find comfort in the love and support that surrounds them during this time of loss. Doris Dafney, an extraordinary woman, now rests in peace, leaving behind a trail of fond memories and a life well lived.
