Alton, NH:  Doris "Dolly"' Councilman of Alton, NH passed away on October 8th at Portsmouth Hospital.  She was born in Saugus, MA on June 21, 1925 and was the daughter of  the late Ralph J. and Arline Nelson.  She was educated in Saugus MA and married to Maurice N. Councilman.  Together they had seven wonderful children, always instilling the value of "family first"'.

Dolly had many loves and interests.  She has been involved with purchasing and selling antiques for many years.  She always had a dog by her side and loved each one dearly.  Family gatherings were the highlights of her life, large or small she loved them all.  Listening to Pavarotti in the company of her late sisters, Eleanor and Ester, was a favorite pastime.  Dolly had a way of making all people feel welcome, valued, and loved.  She was also a true patriot, very interested in politics, and was looking forward to voting for Mitt Romney.

She was predeceased by husband Maurice and her daughters Karen Councilman and Linda Iuele.  Her surviving children and spouses include Gail and Oliver Eaton, Stephen Councilman and Rhonda Caezza, Sherry and Gary Dugas, Kristina and Robert Ramey, and Julie and Ubaldo Arguello.  Her grandchildren include Anthony Iuele, Scott Painten, Stacie Miller, Beth Huberdeau, Christopher and Jared Eaton, Stephen Councilman, Jakub Councilman, Kyle Councilman, Kiara Councilman, the late Jon Councilman, Jacob Councilman, Katherine Conlon, Alexander Dugas, Natalia Ramey, Olivia Ramey, Lauren Gullotti, Anthony Early, and Alejandra Arguello. She is also survived by twelve great grandchildren, two brothers, Carl and Frederick Nelson, several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to local animal shelters or to The Wounded Warrior Program at PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 20th at 11 AM at West Congregational Church, 767 Broadway, Haverhill, MA.  Arrangements are under the direction of Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, NH.  To send a message of condolence, please visit our website at www.brooksidechapelfh.com
