Doreen C. Scott

Doreen C. Scott, age 87, entered into rest on Saturday, September 14, 2013, in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Arrangements are being handled by Forest Lawn Mortuary. The funeral will be at 10:00 am on September 24, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palm Desert with Father Lincoln officiating. Interment will follow at 2:15 pm at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palm Desert, Calif. Doreen Clara (Marti) Scott, the daughter of Emil and Amanda (Buchmiller) Marti was born on October 25, 1925, in Greenville IL. Doreen grew up on the family farm and graduated from Greenville High School. She worked at DeMoulin Brothers in Greenville. Then she worked at the U.S. Army Aviation Systems Command in St. Louis, Mo. On November 22, 1952, Doreen and Alfred E. Scott were united in marriage. They lived in St. Louis, Mo., until they moved to Maui, Hawaii in 1992, and then moved to California in 2000. Doreen enjoyed golf, photography, volunteer activities at her church, and making Ikebana (Japanese) floral arrangements. Doreen is survived by 3 nephews, many great nephews and nieces, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers, 1 sister, and 1 nephew.
