Dora Rodriguez

Dora R. Rodriguez, 68, of Coachella, CA, passed away on February 24th, 2023 after a brief battle with liver cancer. She was surrounded by her family.  

Dora was born on December 17th, 1954 to David Rodriguez Sr. and Eulalia Rodriguez in Waco, TX. The family moved to California when Dora was three years old. 

When Dora had her first child, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Dora excelled at propping up all members of her family and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others. To know her, was to love her!

Dora was a hard worker and after raising her children, she became a cashier at Costco for 20 years. She retired in October 2021. Since then she would be found gardening, tending to her pets, and spending time laughing, smiling, and dancing with her family & friends. The hole left by Dora’s absence is impossible to fill. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and friend!

Dora was predeceased by her parents and brothers Raymond, Gilbert, Edward, Danny, and Johnny Rodriguez. Dora leaves, to be cherished in her memory, her four children: Carlos Castro Jr., Raymond Castro, Monica Maldonado, and Vanessa Scott.  As well as her four grandchildren: Raylene Lopez, Rayann Lopez, Robert Lopez, & Mariah Scott and two great-grandchildren: Scarlett Tucker and Xavier Lopez.

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Forest Lawn Chapel, Coachella, CA. There will be a Visitation & Rosary Service on March 27th, 2023 from 4-8pm. Mass will be on Tuesday, March 28th at 9am at the Our Lady of Soledad Catholic Church in Coachella, CA followed by her interment at 10:30am at the Coachella Valley Cemetery in Coachella.
