Donna Rogers, 90, born on July 19, 1934, in Long Beach, CA, United States, passed away April 27, 2025. She resided in Lakewood, CA at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the care of Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA. Service will be Saturday, May 31st 11:30 at Forest Lawn, Cypress.
Donna was a beloved mother, Nana, Great Nana, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to all. She was the matriarch of the family. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love. A proud resident of Lakewood for over 67 years, she made her home in the same house where she lovingly raised her two children Scott and Stacy.
She attended Jordan High School and later Long Beach City College. Donna spent the early years of her adult life as a stay-at-home mom, later earning her real estate license and ultimately building a long and successful career as an auto leasing specialist.
Donna had a passion for travel and found great joy in exploring new places and creating lasting memories with loved ones. She loved cross-country road trips, which she did several times. Her last road trip was moving her daughter from Virgina to California over 12 days in her 80's. Her goal was to put her feet in every great lake which she accomplished.
When her children were young, Donna often took them camping to Kernville, where she taught them to waterski on Lake Isabella. As the years passed, she continued these adventures, bringing her family to Lake Mojave and Lake Havasu, where she shared her love of waterskiing and passed it on to the next generation.
She had an extensive collection of Louis L’Amour westerns, many of which she read multiple times. One of her favorite places to explore was McKay’s Used Bookstore in Manassas, Virginia, where books could be found for just 50 cents. During visits to her daughter Stacy, it was always a must-stop destination. Her home is now filled with a rich and varied library—a testament to her lifelong love of books.
Above all, Donna was a devoted and loving mother, Nana and Great Nana, family was the heart of her world, and she poured her love, strength, and wisdom into every moment shared with them. She taught by example—showing the value of kindness, perseverance, and unconditional love. Her presence was a source of comfort and light, and her memory will live on in the lives she touched.
A mother’s love is eternal, and though she may be gone from our sight, she will never be gone from our hearts.
