Donna Rae McFadden
1933-2020

Donna Rae Partridge McFadden, long-time resident of Crestline, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020, in Riverside, California.

Donna lived her life as God would have wanted her to, with love and grace. She shared that love with others and enriched many lives with her humor and good nature.

She walked around the lake in Crestline everyday with her beautiful Springer spaniel, Ben. She loved the blue, glistening water and the friends she'd meet along the way.

Donna was born in Huron, South Dakota, on December 4th, 1933, on one of the coldest winters in memory.

As an only child, Donna grew up finding company in her beloved animals and pets, especially kittens. Living on the family farm in Kansas gave her many days of laughter and sunshine.

In 1941, the family sold the farm, and moved to California just as bombs dropped on Pearl Harbor.

An eight-year-old Donna soon found herself listening to screeching air raid alarms throughout the night. It was WW2. Though Donna was fearful her father told her there was no reason to be afraid. That God was with her.

Donna listened to her father and forever lived her life by those words.

Donna married John McFadden, on September 10, 1953, and went on to have four beautiful children, Scott, Colleen, Sharon, and Ken.

She lived her life fully, traveling often and sharing the many gifts of her adventures and things she learned along the way. Quilting, cooking, singing and traveling were her life's passions.

Sadly, Donna's youngest son, Ken, preceded her in death. Three children, Sharon Forward, Scott McFadden, and Colleen Battaglia survive Donna. Each one is grateful for their mother's goodness and love throughout the years.

A small gathering will meet together to say goodbye privately. Please say a personal prayer if you'd like.

Donna lived a creative and brave eighty-six years. She made the world a better place.

We will miss her terribly.
