Donald Acton Straub

Donald Acton Straub passed away peacefully on May 18, 2022, at home in Long Beach, California. Don was born on September 7, 1931, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to parents Lillian Ina (Mattson) and Donald Lorrimore Straub. Don worked in Commercial Real Estate for nearly 60 years, 46 of which were in Triple Net Leased Properties where he was a pioneer in his field. He loved meeting people and helping them meet their financial goals through investment properties. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. Don loved traveling the world, golfing, watching sports, watching comedy, telling jokes, live music, playing cards, spending time with family and friends. He was a gentleman, fun loving, & caring.

Preceding in death is his son David Straub and brother Richard Straub. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Barbara "Barbie" Straub; daughters Susan Gomez (husband Larry) and Dawn Hageman (husband Steve); sons Duane Straub (wife Kathy), Donald Straub III (wife Karrie); grandchildren David, Neal, Clark, Gordon, Ryan, Brady, & Makayla; great grandchildren Nathan, Nicole, Kiley, & Dominic; brothers Gary & Dennis; cousins Curt & Linda.

Don's Memorial Service will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday, July 9th, in the Chapel at Forest Lawn in Cypress, California. A viewing will be held at Forest Lawn on Friday, July 8th, from 9am to 4pm.
