Donald Anthony Guarascio

Donald A. Guarascio, 83, of La Quinta, Calif. passed away peacefully on June, 12, 2016, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease, which he fought with unflagging bravery and dignity. Don was born on July 14, 1932 to Donald and Philomena Guarascio in Monessen, Pa. He was truly "The Donald", long before that other guy ever came along. As a proud member of the U.S. Air Force and manager guiding radar and other defense technology at Hughes Aircraft, Don was a take-charge leader who made his country safer and the communities in which he lived better places. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joyce, his son, Steven, daughter, Dawn, stepson, Bob, and six beloved grandchildren, Jenna, Kelly, Sarah, Aubrhe, Emily and Rob. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Forest Lawn, in Coachella, Calif. A funeral service will be held Monday, June 20 at 10:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, in La Quinta, with interment to follow at Coachella Valley Cemetery in Coachella.
