Donald Friedman

Donald Friedman, 81, born on August 24, 1932, in New York, NY passed away Novenber 15, 2013. He resided in Rancho Mirage, CA at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA. At age 10, Don got rheumatic fever which compromised his heart. Laying in bed for one year during recovery, he would listed to Yankee games and soaked up the info and stats on the players and game. That's when his love for sports began. His family moved to Los Angeles in 1948 and attended Belmont High. He then put himself thru UCLA where he studied accounting. He would attend Bruin football and basketball games and enjoyed traveling with the team at away games. Don worshipped Coach John Wooden and will now have the opportunity to talk Bruin basketball with The Coach. He retired from his own CPA practice in the San Fernando Valley at age 55 to play tennis and golf in the desert. Don is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; his 3 children Felice, Michael and Craig; and grandchildren Steffanie Stelnick and Jayme Friedman, who he adored. Don will be missed greatly by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity.
Services with be held at Forest Lawn on Monday, Nov 18 at 3pm
