It is with a deep sadness and a profound sense of loss coupled with gratitude that we inform you of the transition of Domonique Pearl Brewer (37). Born December 12, 1987, to Alex Brewer and Verleeta French, Domonique, affectionately known as "Domo", was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend who loved fiercely and out loud. She was not afraid to speak her mind, she had an infectious laugh, embraced life to the fullest, and loved taking credit for the gifts that others purchased for someone else and tricking her niece and nephew into believing that she was younger or older than she really was, lol. She was the life of the party, extremely outgoing, and loved far and wide by many.
After years of pain and discomfort from her physical ailments, she was released of those burdens/shackles in the early hour of Monday, June 2, 2025. While her time of death was called at 1:50 a.m., we believe she went Home to be with God at 1:00 a.m. when her older sister, Monique, saw her body release all its tension and relax peacefully. It is at that point that we believe that she took the Lord's hand and left her earthly tent. Her sister was by her side until her last seconds. During her last hours, her sister rubbed her arm and held her hand as she went through painful procedures. She asked for and received leg massages from her older sister to relieve discomfort and provide her the opportunity to rest. Ultimately, Domonique was tired physically, mentally, and emotionally and God knew down to the last second when He would welcome her into his arms and give her the peace she desired.
Today, Domonique is restored and made whole as affirmed by scripture, "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8). Not only was Domonique a Christian (raised in a God-fearing household), but she was also saved and over the last years of her life she worked hard to build strong bonds, repair relationships, right wrongs, and ensure everyone felt her love and presence. We are grateful for the 37 years, 5 months, and 20 days that God granted us with her.
Domonique's Homegoing and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, as follows:
